I think I may have a routine. Only took 6 months.

Washing...
I’m on the modified no poo method. I conditioner wash with Suave
Humectant Conditioner (or whatever is cheap). Gone are the days of
washing my hair everyday. Now that my hair is longer it’s just not
worth washing it everyday. Plus it takes a lot longer to dry and it has
been established that blow dryers are the devil. And, I’m starting to
get over myself.
I notice I get this funky scalp sludge when I go longer than 5 days
between washings. My hair is also non-responsive around the fifth day.
My hair did the same when I had a perm. Believe it or not I used to
wash my hair everyday when I had a perm!
Conditioners have a way of building up on my hair. When I feel like I
need to clarify, I’ll use a tad bit of shampoo or Dr. Bronners
Peppermint Soap. Shampoos make my hair squeaky clean.
When I’m in the mood for having goop run down my neck I’ll do the
honey/olive oil condition. I haven’t used it in a while, however. The
jury is still out with that process.
Moisture…
WATER! You got to drink it.
Stay Soft Fro
Limited use of heat on the hair.
Styling Aids…
I’m proud to say that I’m a recovering product junkie. My hair likes
the less is best approach. When I rock my picked out fro I use stay
soft fro or my glycerin/water spritz.
When I do twists, coils, cornrows, etc. I use QP’s Mango Butter.
For my wash and go’s I use 100%Aloe Gel or Proclaims Aloe Gel or I use
nothing at ALL!
I’ll also use the above gels to smooth my hair down when I wear a puff.
That’s about it as far as my routine. It has changed a lot over the
past few months but I think this works best for my hair for right now.
I don’t fight with my hair anymore to get it to do what it’s not meant
too. I have several different textures and it’s futile to try to get
them to look the same.
New Routine as of 11/18/05
I wash
my hair almost daily with Dr. Bronners Soap. I condition with a
cheap Conditioner. I rub a little Garnier Soft Curl Cream on my
hair. I get an edge up/trim weekly. That's it!
